Trilogy Synopsis

The deeply spiritual peoples of Morth and Xoutha are divided by their belief in different gods. But they both lay claim to the Sacred Mountain and to the mysterious Ship Prophet who has lived there for generations. The epic trilogy opens with high tensions between the countries of this alien world threatening to erupt into a new war for the mountain. In "Shadow of the Seacrow", the Ship Prophet is compelled to set a dangerous task for two young pilgrims. A trainee Xouthan priestess and a Morthern monk must overcome their mistrust of one another and travel great distances across alien landscapes. From the outset, they are shadowed by a wayward seacrow whose persistence betrays more than a coincidental interest in the events and discoveries that will change their world, and their beliefs, forever.

Shadow of the Seacrow is an extraordinary tale of forbidden love set in a hauntingly realised alien world. Haseley Hinton has successfully woven irresistible characters, exquisitely described landscapes and fantastic adventure to create a novel that is both richly imaginative and profoundly human in scope. The adventure continues in Song of the Seacrow, the second book in the trilogy, with the priestess and monk struggling to come to terms with their new lives. Revelations continue, with the scale of human interference in their world gradually rising to an unnerving zenith. Will the plans of the Four Kings endanger an entire alien civilization?
